These Asaro olives are reported to be the only organic Castelvetrano olives available in the USA.  Castelvetrano is the olive variety Nocellara that can be found in many areas of Italy, but when it is from the Sicilian valley of Belice, it is called Nocellara del Belice, and the cured olive is called Castelvetrano after the name of the valley’s largest city.
