2024 Harvest Is Amazing! Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of (Vintage label on .75 ml bottles only)
Picking and crushing at this time insures that the majority of the olives are green and filled with flavor. It embodies all of the character we hope for in new crushed olive oil: intense fresh fruit taste, a bit sassy and an intense green color. This olio nuovo is bottled immediately as it is crushed, completely unfiltered. The olive oil of Olivestri is among the finest in the world. They are produced with extreme care, insuring that all olives are crushed within hours of being picked. They are a blend of olive varietals typical of the region: Leccino, Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Dolce Agogia. The frantoio (olive mill) is in the Umbrian town of Petrignano del Lago near the shores of lake Trasimeno, very near the Tuscan border and the towns of Cortona and Montepulciano. Here the Colli del Trasimeno (hills of Trasimeno) are soft and rolling, creating a microclimate that imparts a gentle, creamy texture to the oil. Even though the nuovo has quite a peppery finish, it is still void in bitterness, making it suitable for a wide breadth applications. This olive oil carries the D.O.P. Umbria - Colli del Trasimeno certification, but the olio nuovo bottles do not carry it on the label because the inspectors for the D.O.P. zone do not arrive at the frantoio until late January -- and we have already been enjoying the oil by then!
In order to enjoy its freshness, we recommend using it while it is still young. As it ages, it will still be great olive oil, but the exuberance of its youth will be ever more delicious on vegetables, grilled meats and drizzled over soups.
The .75 liter bottle is perfect for gift giving and you can see we have several combination gifts making it even more attractive. |

Review for Siloro Extra Virgin Olive Oil
This is THE BEST olive oil that I have ever had. The flavor is perfect, for my taste; it has a lovely strong flavor but is not at all bitter.

Quality Oil with GREAT Flavor
While every year the oil has slightly different 'flavors' (just like fine wines), the taste has always been fantastic. This oil is too good to be wasted in recipes that call for cooking with oil. Brush some oil over french bread and sprinkle with a little parmesan or drizzle over a fresh salad. YUM!

WORTH the extra $
With global supply train in disarray, we thought we might miss out on the 2021 Olio Nuovo, the December tradition we have enjoyed for over 15 years! We opened our small bottle just a few days ago and have been enjoyed daily. This year's oil seem very fruit-forward, with a wonderful mouth feel. The fruitiness give way to a peppery finish. It is simply the best olive oil one can find on this side of the Atlantic. Thank you Howard and your team! Buona Festa!

Flavor unremarkable compared to previous years
Casa de Case is a wonderful enterprise, so i write this reluctantly, but I think you need feedback if something is not the usual stellar. I was disappointed in my recent 2020 olio nuovo shipment. Compared to previous CdC purchases, I find the 2020 olio nuovo flavor bland. A friend agrees.

The Best time of the year!
We have been customers all the way Out East for about 15 years, and we always look forward to the arrival of Olio Nuovo each Fall. This year not only did not disappoint; but it is outstanding! This year's oil is full fruit with a nice pepper feel. Luscious! It arrived yesterday and last night we toasted you all with very simple bruschette, olio novo, and a tiny bit of sea salt. Fabulous! This morning it anointed our very tender scrambled eggs. Thank you for this wonderful product year after year after year. It has helped to ease the pain of 2020!
